Biometric Aadhaar Authentication & Document Verification

📅 Date: March 16, 2025

Dear Taxpayers,

The GST registration process in Uttar Pradesh has been updated! Now, some applicants will need to visit a GST Suvidha Kendra (GSK) for biometric Aadhaar authentication and document verification.

Key Changes You Need to Know:

What’s New?

  • GST applicants may now be selected for biometric verification and photo capture during registration.

  • This is based on risk analysis and data checks.

  • The system will decide whether you need to authenticate via OTP or visit a GSK for biometric verification.

How Will You Know?
After submitting Form GST REG-01, you will receive an email with one of the following:
1️⃣ A link for OTP-based Aadhaar authentication – You can complete this online as before.
2️⃣ A link to book an appointment at a GST Suvidha Kendra (GSK) for biometric verification.

If You Need to Visit a GSK

  • You must book an appointment using the link in your email.

  • Appointments start from March 18, 2025.

  • After booking, you’ll receive a confirmation email with your schedule.

What to Carry When Visiting GSK?
📌 Print or digital copy of appointment confirmation email
📌 Details of jurisdiction (as mentioned in the email)
📌 Original Aadhaar Card & PAN Card
📌 Original documents uploaded with your application

Why Is This Required?

  • To ensure secure and fraud-free GST registrations.

  • This process is only for selected applicants based on system checks.

Important Notes

  • Book your appointment within the time limit mentioned in the email.

  • Your ARN (Application Reference Number) will be generated after completing biometric verification.

  • GSK working days & hours will follow local government guidelines.

For any doubts, check your email for instructions or visit the GST portal.

Thank You,
